Peptic ulcer disease is one of the major prevailing diseases throughout the world and predominantly common in low and middle income countries. PUD poses an important cause of morbidity and mortality throughout the world affecting the lives of millions of people in their everyday life. The main purpose of the study was to evaluate the factors predisposing to peptic ulcer disease among patients attending gastrointestinal clinics in two selected tertiary hospitals in Ogun State (Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta and Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ilishan-Remo). This study utilized a descriptive quantitative research design and total enumeration of 140 participants from the two study tertiary hospitals in Ogun state. Also, there was moderate level of H. p infection 30(50%, BUTH), 44(55%, FMC) among study participants while most of the factors influencing PUD were reported to be intake of NSAIDs (32% Ibuprofen) and steroids (30%), consumption of alcoholic beverages (37.1%), followed by smoking (30%). 68(48.6%) of the participants reported hypertension as one of the most common medical conditions affecting them.  It was recommended among others that the general public needs to be aware about the causes and prevention of PUD.
